I sit back and open my mouth, eyes closed. He put on his gloves and starts talking in a soft, calm voice, telling me everything he does. Picked up the little dental mirror and examined my mouth slowly. Ran his gloved fingers along the sides of my tongue, gentle strokes. Dried it carefully, then stretched it out. Touched underneath, checking every part. At the end he grabs my tongue with clamps and pulls it out as far as it can go, to the limit. His soft voice never changed while my tongue was stretched to the max.
