Brushing. Smoking. Ignoring You
Performers
Not every ritual is meant to be relaxing. Some exist to remind you exactly where you belong. My hair is still completely wet as the brush glides slowly through every strand. There are no rushed movements; every stroke is deliberate, and every product I apply is part of a routine that reflects discipline, self-care, and control. The shine of my damp hair, the sound of the brush, and the calm confidence with which I take my time are all part of the experience. Between each step, I light a cigarette and let the smoke complete the atmosphere. It doesn't interrupt my routine--it becomes part of it. I take a slow drag, exhale without haste, and continue taking care of myself, because my attention is always focused where it truly belongs: on me. You simply watch. I decide how much of my attention you're worthy of... and today, even my routine is worth more than you.
